Cystine oligomers successfully attached to peptide cysteine-rich fibrils

Christian Bortolini,Mingdong Dong

Frontiers of Chemical Science and Engineering 2016, Volume 10, Issue 1,   Pages 99-102 doi: 10.1007/s11705-016-1554-6

Abstract: Amyloid peptides are renowned to be related to neurodegenerative diseases, however, a fruitful avenue is to employ them as high-performance nanomaterials. These materials benefit from the intrinsic outstanding mechanical robustness of the amyloid backbone made of -strands. In this work, we exploited amyloid-like fibrils as functional material to attach pristine L-cysteine aggregates (cystine oligomers) and gold nanoparticles, without the need of templating compounds. This work will open new avenues on functional materials design and their realisation.

Frontiers of Environmental Science & Engineering 2016, Volume 10, Issue 3,   Pages 569-577 doi: 10.1007/s11783-015-0822-x

Abstract: different carrier filling ratios ranging from 40% to 60% were used to study the effects of carrier-attachedThese results were compared to αSOTE of wastewater with a clean carrier (no biofilm attached). This indicated that the biofilm attached to the carrier had a negative effect on αSOTE.

A minimized fluorescent chemosensor array utilizing carboxylate-attached polythiophenes on a chip for

Frontiers of Chemical Science and Engineering 2022, Volume 16, Issue 1,   Pages 72-80 doi: 10.1007/s11705-021-2037-y

Abstract: Chemosensor arrays have a great potential for on-site applications in real-world scenarios. However, to fabricate on chemosensor array a number of chemosensors are required to obtain various optical patterns for multi-analyte detection. Herein, we propose a minimized chemosensor array composed of only two types of carboxylate-functionalized polythiophene derivatives for the detection of eight types of metal ions. Upon recognition of the metal ions, the polythiophenes exhibited changes in their fluorescence intensity and various spectral shifts. Although both chemosensors have the same polymer backbone and recognition moiety, only the difference in the number of methylene groups contributed to the difference in the fluorescence response patterns. Consequently, the metal ions in aqueous media were successfully discriminated qualitatively and quantitatively by the chemosensor microarray on the glass chip. This study offers an approach for achieving a minimized chemosensor array just by changing the alkyl chain lengths without the necessity for many receptors and reporters.

Abstract:

Pressed ventilation in heading face is actually a restrained wall-attached jet ventilation in confinedAccording to result of numerical simulation, there are four zones in heading face, i. e. wall-attachedjet zone, impact jet wall-attached zone, back flow zone and eddy zone. The starting segment length of attached jet is shorter than thar of free attached jet. After wall-attached jet formed completely, the axis velocity of wall is higher than that in air outlet
